Dr. Mel Goldstein, the well-known TV meteorologist, projects a sincerely postive persona despite his constant excruciating pain, the result of multiple myloma, a blood cancer that causes bones to disintegrate. Five years after he should have died Goldstein is cancer free. However, his bones do not conduct the normal process of renewel. This is uncharted medical territory bcause no one with multiple myloma usually gets as far.
